Just Stop Dating is committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of our content, organizational structure, and public engagement. We believe that responsible emotional education must reflect the multiplicity of lived experiences, cultural identities, and relationship perspectives across race, gender, sexuality, ability, and socioeconomic background.
Content and Representation
We actively work to:
- Amplify voices from marginalized, underrepresented, and historically excluded communities.
- Ensure our writing reflects a range of relationship structures and gender identities, including LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and non-Western relational frameworks.
- Avoid pathologizing or stereotyping language in discussing emotional distress or psychological constructs.
Contributors and Sourcing
Our editorial team prioritizes inclusion of contributors and sources from:
- Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities
- LGBTQIA+ communities
- Disabled communities
- Individuals from a variety of global and cross-cultural backgrounds
We are actively expanding our contributor base and advisory collaborations to reflect this commitment. Guest contributors are encouraged to self-identify relevant aspects of their lived experience to contextualize their perspectives, though disclosure is always voluntary.
Organizational Practices
As a growing nonprofit:
- We aim to build a diverse leadership team and advisory council with accountability mechanisms in place.
- We support remote participation, flexible work structures, and inclusive editorial workflows to remove systemic barriers to engagement.
- We periodically review demographic data (where voluntarily provided) to assess our diversity goals and guide outreach.
Public Feedback and Accountability
We welcome community feedback on how to improve our inclusivity. Concerns or suggestions can be submitted via [email protected]. All feedback is reviewed by the editorial and outreach team.
